Marissa's Diamond Earrings

It was Marissa's 15th birthday, so her grandmother decided to give her a special gift. After thinking about it for a while, she decided to give her jewelery. But not just any jewelry: her mother's diamond earrings. Apparently, they were enchanted.
A day later, she called her grand daughter and gave her the beautiful present. Marissa loved the earrings so much that she decided to wear them for her birthday party, even when her mother told her she might lose them.
That afternoon, Marissa went to the hairdresser's to have her hair and nails done. Then, she went to the party lounge, where she had some photographs taken by the photographer. The guests arrived 2 hours later.
The party was great. All her friends were there, and they were having so much fun. There was a really good band, and the food was delicious. Marissa was wearing a pink dress and her diamond earrings. It was the happiest night of her life.
After 6 hours all the guests started to leave. Marissa took a deep breath, and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked exhausted but extremely happy. She looked at the shiny earrings she was wearing and smiled. After about three seconds, the earrings fell. She hadn't even touched them, so she was surprised, but she started to look for them. She couldn't find them, so she started to cry. For a minute, she thought she'd seen them dissapear. That was the last time she ever saw them.
