Memories remain

Ann was a 72 years old woman who lived alone in a cosy house in the countryside. In the last five years she only went out of her house to buy some food and books.
She never met her neighbors, that’s why those heavy books full of love stories that she read every day were her only friends.
One day at night Ann couldn’t fell asleep, so, she went downstairs to pick a nice story from one of those piles she had, and try to feel that someone was reading it to her. There was not very much light, and it was not very organized. She took the first one she saw, and without reading the title the old woman ran to the kitchen, served a glass of milk, and went to bed.
When she opened it she noticed that it was not a story, instead of that it was a photo album. She has totally forgotten about it. Those photos where taken when she was twenty years old with all her friends. She couldn’t remember all those moments; it was a long time ago.
In the middle of the album she saw a photo, and knew it was that trip she made after moving to Texas. She didn’t remember where she had been, but she didn’t care because she had had a great time.
When Ann got to the last photo, she turned it and read what it was written there: ‘Florida 1952’
She saw the picture with all her friends again, and realized that that was the last time she saw them.

  1. Great job! Just correct: "...five years, she.." "One night...couldn't fall asleep..." "...a lot of light...she wasn't very well organized." "...the title, the... poured herself a glass..." "...a story; in fact it..." "She had..." " ...had been taken..."
