Jenny's new friends (corrected)

The Parkers had just moved to a new house. John and Mary were happy, but Jenny, their ten-year
old daughter, was extremely sad: she missed her friends.
The house looked like a spacious and luxurious mansion in the middle of the suburbs. Suddenly strange things started to happen. They were unpacking when they heard a dog barking, but they couldn’t see anything. Later, Jenny went outside and saw the swing was moving and no one was there. After dinner all the dishes fell off and broke, but nobody had touched them. Her parents said: ‘it was an accident’ but Jenny was already afraid. One night, Jenny suddenly woke up and saw a shadow passing near her. ‘Who are you?’ she shouted, but they didn’t get an answer.
The days passed and she saw the shadows again and again until she was sure: “the house was hunted”. She tried to tell her parents and they didn’t believe her. ‘You have to make new friends,’ they told her, ‘so you won’t think of silly things’.
Trying to show how brave she was, that night Jenny went down and found a whole ghost family with a little dog. They were friendly and became her only friends. Jenny was happy until her parents started to be frightened by the noises and shadows and decided to move back to their old house. And although Jenny cried sadly, they left the house.
Looking back, Jenny saw the ghost family waiving at her. That was the last time she saw them.
